Refund and Returns Policy

Cotech Industries – Return & Refund Policy

(Compliant with the South African Consumer Protection Act, 2008)

1. Scope of Policy

This policy applies to all purchases made through our online store at https://cotechsa.co.za. By purchasing from us, you agree to the terms below.


2. Custom & Made-to-Order Goods

  • In line with the Consumer Protection Act (Section 20(3)(a)), goods that are custom-made, cut, or manufactured to your specifications cannot be returned or refunded unless they are defective.

  • Customers must confirm all sizes, finishes, colours, and other specifications before placing custom orders.


3. Cooling-Off Period (Online Purchases Only)

  • In terms of Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, consumers have the right to cancel an online transaction within 7 days of receipt, except where goods are custom-made.

  • If you exercise this right, you may be liable for the cost of returning the goods. Goods must be unused and in their original packaging.


4. Standard Goods (Non-Custom)

For all other goods, the following applies:

  • Returns are accepted within 30 calendar days of delivery only if the goods are unused, undamaged, and in original packaging.

  • Returns will not be accepted if:

    • Goods show signs of installation, alteration, or use.

    • Goods have been stored in unprotected areas (exposed to moisture, sun, dust, or weather damage).

    • Goods are damaged due to negligence, misuse, or improper handling.


5. Risk & Responsibility

  • Risk transfers to the purchaser once delivery has been made.

  • We are not responsible for damage arising from poor site storage, water exposure, weather conditions, or third-party handling.


6. Defective Goods

  • If goods are defective within 30 Days of delivery, you may request a repair, replacement, or refund, as provided under Section 56 of the CPA.

  • Proof of purchase and photographic evidence must be provided within 7 days of discovering the defect.

  • Where goods can reasonably be repaired, Cotech reserves the right to repair before replacing or refunding.


7. Refunds

  • Refunds will only be issued once returned goods are inspected and approved.

  • Refunds will be made using the original payment method (PayFast, PayFlex, or EFT), subject to their terms and processing periods.

  • Transaction fees charged by PayFast, PayFlex, or banks may be deducted from the refund where applicable.

  • Refunds may take up to 14 business days after approval.


8. Returns Process

To request a return:

  1. Contact us at return@cotechsa.co.za or 015 297 3525 with your order number and reason for return.

  2. Wait for written confirmation and return instructions.

  3. Ensure goods are securely packaged in original packaging.

  4. Transport/return costs are the customer’s responsibility unless goods are defective or incorrectly supplied.


9. Non-Returnable Items

  • Custom-made goods.

  • Goods damaged due to improper storage or installation.

  • Goods returned after 30 days from delivery.

  • Clearance or sale items.


10. Amendments

Cotech Industries reserves the right to update or amend this policy at any time. Updates will be posted on our website with a new effective date.
